Miss me?
So hey everyone, haven't written in this journal in a long time. Got a lot on my mind and I guess here is as good a place as any to vent it all. Lets start with the end of last semester here at school. It was about 2 weeks before school was let out for winter break and I wasn't feeling too good. I started feeling worse the day after the symptoms started and it ended up in an ambulance ride to the hospital. Hyperventilating, fever, severe chills, all that good stuff, plus my hands cramped up so bad I couldn't move them for a while. Even though I got the flu shot, I still got the worst strand of the flu. I missed all of my finals. In all I was sick for about 3 weeks. Not too long after that my cousin went to the doctor for a checkup to see how her baby was doing. 8 months pregnant and they tell her the baby died. They had to induce labor, she gave birth and had to bury her baby. If that wasn't bad enough, my uncle was still really sick and needed a liver transplant. I get back to school, start classes and such and have a shitload of makeup work to do. Then I find out that my uncle has taken another turn for the worse. He still needs a liver transplant, but now there is a problem, he might have cancer. I found out about this on a friday. It turns out that it is cancer and he cannot get a transplant because of it, so it's only a matter of time before he dies, probably a few weeks at most. He decided he wanted to try chemo just to see if it would work. Get a call sunday, he died. Never got the chance to come home and see him, didn't even get to talk to him. This brings us up to the present. I have one more class to finish things up for from last semester and still some work to make up from what I missed this semester. I did kinda bad in one class which dropped my GPA down, then I just found out a couple days ago I failed another one. I also just dropped another class I have this semester. This means that by the time my freshman year is over I will only have 8 classes behind me instead of 10. Aside from all this, I'm once again really depressed. I'm not happy at school. I have no fucking clue where I am in life or where I'm going. I'm getting angry. The past few months haven't been good at all and I don't even wanna know whats next. Oh yeah, I'm getting sick again, that's why I'm still up right now and I have class at 10:25. Fuck. | | Wednesday, October 8th, 2003 | | 2:32 pm |
Riot
It all started right after the game was over. Everybody poured out of the dorms and ran onto the green. We went to the apartments after that, then back to the green where pumpkins were smashed, fires were set and people were setting off fireworks. People were riding on each others shoulders, screaming and chanting. Then the crowd started moving back towards the apartments but stopped along the way to flip over a campus cruiser. Thats when more local cops were called in along with a bunch of staties. Apparently some campus and local cops were assaulted, too. They blocked off the road across from the apartments and were all around campus. People were taunting the cops, TPing the trees, then tried to set the trees on fire with flaming toilet paper. Clothes were set on fire, flung around, twirled with burning pieces of cloth flying everywhere. One kid was even trying to get a bunch of people to burn down one of the buildings. Right after he was telling me and my friends about it a cop moved in and shoved him out of the way and made him leave. Right around then the cops started breaking it up and everybody went back to the dorms. Wonder what will happen tonight... | | Sunday, September 21st, 2003 | | 1:05 pm |
So, I really haven't updated in a long time. College is great, except without classes it would be so much better. Lets see...I started making friends instantly. The two rooms across from me and the one next to me contain some cool people. We all just kinda hang out in each others rooms all the time. Then friends of theirs came up, other people from down the hall, all that good stuff. I'm guessing around 20 people. And all but 3 are gone right now. The whole campus is DEAD. My roommate went home last night, one girl came back. Boring as fuck. Friday was fun though, me, my roomie and a few other kids went to an off campus party. I had this hot girl flirting with me all night, but by the end of the night that kinda got ruined a bit...but anyway, the cops showed up at one point. Everything gets silent, I look over by the door and two cops are standing there. I had a beer in my hand. Everybody that was in the room gets told to come outside. Cop cards everybody, me and the girl are under 21. He goes on to explain that he can get the guy that lives there evicted and all this stuff, then says he won't do it. He is 29 and he remembers what college is like. Nothing happened. Cop leaves, we go back to drinking. I go to the other apartment the party carried over to, lights are off, everybody is crammed into the back room. Let them know its ok to come out. I think we left around 12:30. Good times. I have other stories about drinking and marijuana use, but they involve puking and such by other people. Lesson I have learned? I'm the only one who can hold his liquor and smoke weed and still be perfectly fine. I'm AWESOME. | | Wednesday, August 20th, 2003 | | 7:46 pm |

College Stuff
15 days til I have to be at Westfield State College. My best friend left today for Clemson University in South Carolina. I didn't get to see him one last time, but we did talk for a long time last night on the phone. Now I gotta start buying all my supplies for school. My mother and brother went out shopping yesterday and picked up a few things I need, including a funny poster full of quotes about being drunk. One thing that is going to piss me off is buying a computer. To get all the stuff I want in one it'll run me about $1200-1300, and that is just for the computer. In all, roughly $1400 for everything. I may just have to settle for something decent when its on sale, but my problem with those computers is that half of the parts they use are just shit. Also, trying to talk computer stuff with my Dad isn't fun. I've already said I'll toss in a few hundred if it gets expensive...we'll see what happens. I really need to e-mail my roommate about a few things...I also wanna make sure that he has an internet adapter on his PS2, he said he thought he did, which tells me maybe not. I'll be bringing my Dreamcast. Some of you reading this are in the same boat as me, heading off to your first year of college. I'm not really nervous about it, but I am thinking about how its going to be different. No comforts of home. No sleeping all day. Hoping that my roommate is cool...and he seems very much like me, so of course he will be. I think from now until I leave I just need to get out more and hang with my friends, I haven't done much of that this summer. | | Friday, July 18th, 2003 | | 12:52 am |
Another Interview
Here are some questions from Mattblue. 1. Mr. Kearns, why are you so intent on meeting me? I mean, I'm flattered and all, but seriously, I'm not that cool of a guy. Well, Matt, I want to meet you because I've known you for quite a bit of time and you have always seemed to be a cool person. And we damn well better meet since you will be about a half hour away from me this year. Besides, I want to meet the guy I've been stalking for a long time. <3 2. Who was cooler back in the day: Stallone, or Schwarzennegger? This is a battle that has raged on over the years, including a fight on Celebrity Deathmatch. I think Arnold is cooler. He has a cool accent, too, and his people make good waffles. Stallone doesn't really have any accent to speak of, just the sound of someone who had a stroke. 3. What do you want to do once you graduate from college? Good job, good pay, work for a few years, save up, get married, MAYBE have kids. Nice car and house, too. You know, your standard american dream. 4. What posessed you to actually become a lunch-lady (I'm using that as a gender neutral tone) What possessed me to be a lunch lady, you asshat, though thats my fault...whatever, was necessity. I needed a job, I knew a kid who worked there, he wa gonna get a job for another kid, so I jumped in and got one too. 5. What's your favorite song of allllllll time? I can't really limit myself to one song. I like some contemporary stuff, but I grew up on oldies, and they will always stick with me. There are plenty of good songs to choose from. I suppose if I were to start listening to them again I could maybe tell you, but for right now I can't give you one song that is my favorite. 6. What made you like the king of all shows (*snicker*) DRAGONBALLZEEEEE? I remember watching it, then telling my mother something like, "You know, I really like this show." Then I continued to watch it. By the Buu saga I was just watching it for the sake of completion. 7. And finally, which would you rather be called, a "Bay Stater," or a "Masshole?" I don't wanna be called a Bay Stater, because that is stupid. I guess I can live with Masshole. | | Tuesday, July 15th, 2003 | | 9:27 pm |
Queries
Here are some questions from JibakuShounen1. If you were a cigarette/cigar, what would you be? If I were a cigar, I would want to be a brand from Brazil. Why you may ask? Brazilian women are HOT, and I would hope to be smoked by one. 2. If you could choose your own name, given and surname, what would you choose? If I could choose my own, full name, I would leave it as Shaun Kearns. I like my name. The only other possibility would be Stig C. Grieve.* 3. Choose a ficticious world to live in (any anime, movie, TV show, comic, etc.) - which and why If I could live in any fictitious world it would have to be that of Cowboy Bebop. Space travel, ass kickery, Faye, adventures. And I would be a cool character, not one who gets his ass handed to him. Maybe Ed's dad. 4. Would you rather have a functional 2-inch penis, or a 10 inch penis with no nerve endings? Having feeling in one's penis is a wonderful thing. But then the emphasis on penis size comes into play; in this world, bigger is better. Having a large penis would make you popular with the ladies and boost your confidence...but the experience would be cheapened because you wouldn't get your jollies off, except maybe the first time...I'll take the 10" penis and get an operation to fix it. 5. Who is your daddy, and what does he do? My dad is Michael Kearns and he works for UPS. He supervises the mechanics and is one of the few people left at UPS who knows what the hell he is doing. * Denotes boldfaced LIE Anybody want to be interviewed? Leave a comment. | | 1:21 am |

Alright, apparently I didn't hear my parents, or at least not correctly. They got dialup for this computer, so we do have internet. Unlimited hours, so no worries. And so far it seems to be pretty fast. As for the ride up, it was fine. It was my first time driving on the highway by myself...I've had my license for a year and a half, and I think I drove 2 times with someone on license and once on permit...anyway, all went fine, highway is nothing. Although driving for such a long period of time is a bitch. | | 6:15 am |
Leaving for NH
Well, It's now after 6am and I think I may take off for NH right now. I'm pretty much all packed, parents are still asleep and I may beat traffic. I'll be gone until at least the 11th I think. At this point I really want to take my car up, and if I wait any longer I won't be able to, I'm already tired. So this is goodbye for about a week or so, unless I get a chance to get online through dialup. Buh Bye. | | Tuesday, July 1st, 2003 | | 10:04 pm |
What I've been up to...
Since I am so fucking bored, I figured I would finally update this. Orientation at Westfield was fairly boring. It was the longest 28 hours of my fucking life. First of all, the night before it started I fell asleep around 4am, didn't sleep good at all because music was on, got up at 6 and turned it off, and was out of bed to get ready to leave at 8. I was pretty damn tired. Then we had a lot of boring ativities to do throughout the day, about 12 solid hours of activities. Then we finally got to just do what we wanted around 9:30-10. The kids that were in my group were pretty cool and we hung out the whole night. After we were told about the consequences of drinking and doing drugs, they broke out the booze and weed. Ya gotta love that. Then most of us never went to sleep that night. I passe dout in a chiar and a couch a couple times, probably only a few minutes at a time. Then the remaining activities, including picking classes. Then we left and went back to my aunt and uncle's house. Since 2 that morning I had been walking around like a zombie. I was seriously trying to stay awake as I was walking. Sleep was trying to force itself upon me, and at one point I laid down when i was hanging out with my cousin and the next thing I knew it was 4 hours later and we had to go home. Slept some in the car off and on. Then I was home. Wednesday was my last day of work. Everything went fine, and now I can sleep on sundays. I got my check Friday and added it to my pile of cash. Right now I have $200 spending cash in my wallet and still have to pick up my last paycheck at the end of this week, probably another $40-50. Thats the only thing that bugs me now, money. I don't have any income now, so I can't really just spend money...then again, I never do that anyway, just gas, movies and the occasion eating out. This moves us to Saturday, my graduation party. Good time had by all, my friends were there, family, and I got lots of cash. Total graduations gifts: $1280, picture frame, picture in frame. That brings my savings to well over $3000. Now, you may be asking yourself why I am worried about money. $1000 of that is scholarship money is going to go towards books. The rest is for when I'm at school, so I'm not hitting my parents up for cash all the time. I refuse to touch that money until I get to school. Hopefully I won't use it all, I'm a good spender and responsible with money, so I should be ok. I think I splurge on shopping a few times a year, and each time it's about $30, so yeah... Anyway, after we left the hall, some people came back to our house for a little while. Then my friend and his girlfriend came over. This is where stuff got interesting. We were upstair having some Smirnoffs when they came up. They each got one. In the time that his girlfriend had half of hers, I had 4. By that time I was starting to feel a little bit of a buzz. She was fucking drunk off half a Smirnoff. By the time she finished it she was falling down. I have never seen anything like it. It was fucking hilarious. Just to be careful, he carried her down the stairs, then he walked her to the car and drove her home. I've known some lightweights, but never anyone like her. Overall, a great night. From July 4th til the 11th(I think), I will be up in NH. Pretty much all the furniture and other stuff has been delivered, on the 5th our TVs come. This will be the first time I will actually be staying in the house. I think since the first time we looked at it I've been in it about a total of 2-3 hours. Now I can finally just sit and relax in my new house and soak it all in. I gotta see which friends are actually coming to visit so I have something to do. No internet yet, cable going in on Monday, so at least we will be able to watch TV the rest of the week. Other than that, i have been extremely fucking bored. Nobody is around lately and I've got back into my bad sleep schedule. Today I got up at 4PM. Not good. That is all for now. Current Mood: bored | | Thursday, June 26th, 2003 | | 2:17 am |

Fuck
Lets start off with yesterday. I wake up at 6 or 7am in horrible pain. My calf muscle was cramped up bigtime, hard as a rock and sticking way the hell out, more than I can even flex it. After some moving around and such it went away after a while. It still pulls and feels weird now. Then I was awake around 11 and started bleeding all over the place from my nose. Thats when I decided to get up. Last night we worked til almost 8, which sucked. I went to bed around 4 this morning, had my alarm set for 7:30. I woke up at 7:28 on my own, then decided to turn the alarm off since I was up. That was a mistake, I fell back asleep, then woke up around 9:45, 45 minutes after I was supposed to be at work. I fell asleep again. Around 1 or so I get up and call work. Deron, the cook, tells me not to bother coming in, apparently my boss is firing me and another girl that didn't show up, or it sounds like it. Today was the Father's Day breakfast, residents could have up to 4 family members each. As it turns out, the cook and one dietary aide had to do everyone's jobs on a fucking busy day like this. So not only did I fuck myself over, I fucked them over. I was supposed to work a 10+ hour shift today, thats $80 I really need. I need to call my boss tomorrow, try to explain what happened and see if I still have my job. As of June 28th I officially will have quit there anyway, but shit, 2 weeks is still a while away and I need to save my money, I don't want to go into my savings for spending cash over the summer. Oh yeah, and if I am fired for this my father will be ripshit. Fuck. | | Saturday, June 14th, 2003 | | 2:38 am |

Happy Birthday To Me!!!
Today I turned 18. Earlier today I went out and bought some scratch tickets: a $5, two $2, and a $1. I won jack shit. Oh well... My family and I went out to dinner tonight, I had an awesome prime rib. It was so tender I swear the meat parted to make way for the knife. Got home, opened my presents and had cake. I have another gift coming to me, but it won't be here until next week. I also talked to my friend, I couldn't hear him well because he was on the highway with the top down, but he said something about waking me up at 6am...I need to talk to him later tonight and see what the hell he is talking about. Graduation and other stuff
The past few days have been very eventful. Saturday I stayed over my friend's house until about 2am just talking to him, that day was his graduation party. Also, I had a fight with a woman I work with that night. Sunday, Graduation Day. We couldn't have it outside like everybody wanted due to the bad weather we had been having for about 2 weeks straight. We had it inside the gym of Stonehill College instead. We had to wait upstairs for a long time, and it was muggy and getting really hot. Then someone went into this conference room and a few of us followed. It was much cooler in there, then one person put the AC on. By the time we had to go to our seats, more people had come in. On the way out the heat and smell of sweaty people and ass hit us. Then I caught the smell of someones horrible BO as I went down the stairs. Ceremony went great, and later that night was Safe Grad Nite. 11pm to 5am, full of stuff to do. Tattoos, getting your nails done, tarot readings, caricatures, plenty of free food and water, moonwalk, obstacle course, bungee-run-place-thing-on-velcro-game, and a room full of gambling, you could cash in chips you won for prizes. Then from about 3am-4:30am we had a hypnotist, which was ok. They let us go after that, not exactly reaching the 5am mark, but oh well. Then I got out of bed around 3 and made a decision, then went to work. I go up to my boss and let him know I'm gone at the end of June. Yes, that's right, I am quitting my job and taking the rest of the summer off before I go to college. It'll work out fine, by the end of this month I'll have over $2000 in the bank, then another $1000 of scholarship money, and I'm going to just pay off these next two months of car payments and make it all back by the end of June. Now I just have to run it by my father and see what he says... Also, my aunt/godmother gave me $50 for my birthday and $100 for graduation on Sunday, and my other aunt gave me $50 for graduation. Birthday is the 6th, Graduation party is the 28th. Mmmm...money does me good. Oh, and the house we are buying in NH will be ours in a matter of days. Then later this month we have furniture and stuff coming, and since I quit my job, I can go up there whenever the hell I want. Current Mood: Good | | Monday, May 5th, 2003 | | 7:28 pm |
Stuff and Happenings
Haven't updated in a while, so here is one. Spring break was ok, even though I didn't do much. I went bowling and had friends over a couple days, but thats about it. I played Shenmue a lot. Then the last Saturday my brother went out clubbing and brought home his friend and 2 girls they met there. They came here around 4am. Around 6am we went to bed. I fell asleep around 6:30-7, was planning on going to bed right before they came in. One girl I go to school with. They stayed the night and were dropped off by my brothers friend later. Then the next week I didn't sleep much, went to sleep around 1am each night. Lets see...2 days ago we went to New Hampshire to check out a house my parents like. My brother and I really liked the house too, so we put our offer in. We found out today that they took our offer over the other people that were interested. Most liekly because we wanted to add a garage and do some other stuff, so more $$ for them, and it would be paid in cash, no financing or bank stuff for them to deal with. My parents are going up Saturday to work stuff out with them and they will make a final decision on the house. This also means while I'm at college I can head up there whenever the hell I want and probably have an empty house all to myself. Good Stuff. Now today I did work on a project that was due friday, but we got bumped to tomorrow. Videogame Addiction is my topic. Took an article from Playboy, recorded some game play from FFX, Vice City and SOCOM. Then my friend left and my mother puleld her car into the driveway, then pointed out a bunny sitting on our lawn. We watched it for a while, then i started moving towards it. I got a couple feet away from it and it didn't move. We think it was someones pet that got loose. I put my foot near it and it moved some, then hopped along the property line for a little while while I walked behind it. Seemed pretty comfortable around people. Now I get to write a 3 page report that was due Friday. Fun. | | Monday, April 7th, 2003 | | 5:26 pm |
Senior Assassin
Ok, here is what Senior Assassin is: pay $7 to get into this game where you go after another senior and another goes after you. In order to stay in the game you have to kill your target, shoot them with a squirt gun, in the time alotted. You get one person per round, and when you kill them you get their person. This round goes from today until 2:00PM Friday. I get out of school early so I have an advantage. I went home today, filled up my guns, then drove down the street to wait for my target to get home. Eventually he drove by, but he saw me. I pull up a little, see that he is turning around. He pulls into the street I'm on, cracks his window a little and starts talking to me. Luckily another kid lives right near him, so I told him I was after that kid and didn't know where he lived. He told me, I said thanks, then puled out, took a left onto another street to turn around. He followed me and I hear him yell something to me. He said he could tell me when he works next. I turn around, he pulls up to me with his window down now. Poor, poor child. He goes on talking while I reach for a gun in my pocket. I stick my gun out the window and shoot him a few times in the face. After I got home he called. He let me know that I still didn't get him. He was going to lie. I didn't have a witness, so I had to lie too. I called the organizer and let him know that I got him, he asked if I had a witness, I said my mother was with me. I told this to the kid I shot, too. I also said that I had another kid still on the phone with me, which I did until the first time my target saw me. But My friend Jon, guy on phone, said he would back me up and say that he heard everything. So now I have a new target, one that will be much harder to get. But I have about 5 people on my side. One I am not in a direct alliance with, but he is the kids neighbor. One is my good friend Bill, and another is Jon. The other two are not in the game but said they would help me. Even if I get shot I will still help other people. This game is too fun to miss out on. And the cash prize is a nice incentive to seclude myself in my house for a then ext few weeks.
